Will my eSIM work in the French Alps / Pyrenees / Brittany coast?
Orange has the broadest rural coverage in France. MolaHop, Holafly and Nomad name Orange on their France pages; Airalo does not name its network there. For ski resorts and rural Brittany, Orange-based plans are the safest bet.
Do I need 5G in France?
Probably not. 4G LTE in France is excellent in cities and most rural areas. 5G is widespread in Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux and Nice but for typical traveler use (maps, social, video calls) 4G is more than enough.
I'm doing Paris, Barcelona and Rome. Do I need separate eSIMs?
No — buy a Europe regional plan (MolaHop sells one; other providers have their own). One eSIM covers all three. Separate country eSIMs work too but you'll need to manage activation per country. For a multi-EU trip, the regional plan is simpler.
Can I tether / use hotspot in France?
With MolaHop, yes: hotspot works on compatible devices. Holafly states a shareable allowance of 1GB per day. For the others, check the plan page. Useful in TGV trains with patchy onboard Wi-Fi, or in Airbnbs with slow ADSL.
Which eSIM is cheapest for France?
It depends on the plan. Our price in the table is today's and is highlighted only when it is the lowest in its row; the others are from 1 October 2026 and carry their link. Among those competitors, Airalo had the cheapest 7-day unlimited, followed by Nomad and SimLocal, and Nomad the cheapest 5GB / 30 days. Compare the exact plan you need.
