Will my eSIM work in remote parts of Mexico (Chiapas, Oaxaca, Yucatán interior)?
Telcel-based plans work best in rural Mexico. MolaHop and Holafly name Telcel on their Mexico pages; Nomad names AT&T and Movistar, and Airalo names Movistar plus one other. For a Pueblos Mágicos road trip, prefer Telcel.
Do I need 5G in Mexico?
Probably not. 4G LTE coverage in Mexico is excellent in cities and resorts; 5G is rolling out in CDMX, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Cancún but for typical traveler use 4G is more than enough.
